BUGMAN

Started out in the early 90´s as PLANLOS IRR
with a line-up consisting of two guitars - JL and Sten Backman, drums and occasional bass + guitar - Fredrik Hellström
and saxophone/flute - Annika Ivarsson.

The concept was to get free from all conventions regarding musicmaking and to create a creative chaos where you never play the same composition or rhythmical/harmonical pattern twice.

After a break for a couple of years JL and SB went into the EMS studio in Stockholm and cut a couple of tracks as a duo
(GIVE ME THAT COMBO IF YOU CAN).

Still totally improvised, on an AKAI S1000 sampler and a Buchla synthesizer, this was the starting point for a new direction of the group. They changed the name to BUGMAN and begun to incorporate computers and electronics in the workprocess.

Soon Fredrik was back in the band as a bass player and Stebbe Grapenmark from TVÅ FISK & EN FLÄSK joined on drums. The line-up now is Jan Liljekvist - violin & electronics, Sten Backman - guitar & laptop, Fredrik Hellström - bass, Stebbe Grapenmark - drums and Gustaf Esters (also from TVÅ FISK & EN FLÄSK) - percussion.

In the most miserable karma
Lust for regular zazen
This body is made up of chemicals
In the buddhahood
